i figured there's not much more i can do about this pain except write about it.

Excruciating pain in my back bone, the suffering continues. i feel trapped by my pain.
I know my beloved husband is disturbed by it as well. The half way point between life and death would be my existence. I can only try to describe how it actually feels. Twisted, wretched spine, how dare you give up now. The pain follows the nerve pathways down to my toes. Electrical impulses zap at any given moment with or without notice. How dare you. Fate has delivered yet another trial and tribulation.

...and for some strange reason I have hope and faith in Dr. to fix me again. The risks involved with this particular surgery are frightening and very real. i must first sign a death waiver. So that if anything should go wrong they would be covered. I can only describe how this makes me feel.

I'm the shell of a woman i once used to be...

  • Well don't fell alone. You will find most of us fell the same way.Just hang in there. better days just might be coming.

  • thank you Jim. sometimes you just got to express the feelings... usually i just bottle it up. that can't be good. leads to more pain? anyhow, thanks for responding.

  • You are describing my existence prior to my surgery. I'm 4.5 weeks since my ALIF. In spite of post-op pain I do feel like a difference has been made. It's going to take a long time to heal and that's ok. I will adhere to my surgeon's orders to optimize healing.
I wish you well and encourage you to share your feelings via the forum. Unlike most people we know and feel your pain, fears, & frustrations.
    Take care,
