Last Thursday I went to see my NS for my first visit since my surgery. He said that the x-rays looked good and that I was doing incredibly well since I didn't need to be on any pain medication. Well, the next day, exactly 6 weeks post-op, I was feeling so good that I spent the entire day running errands from around 8:30am-3pm, followed by hosting a play date for my daughter and cooking dinner. That night I drank some wine to relax and about an hour later, I was hit by nausea, dizziness and pain returned in my neck, shoulders. The feeling was very similar to one of my worst days prior to surgery. My question is: was my pain brought on by overdoing it or the consumption of wine, or a combination of both? I read somewhere that wine causes inflammation.
Since Friday night, I feel like the way I was before surgery. Before all this, I was getting better from surgery and really felt like myself. I'm just getting really angry and depressed that I set myself back a few weeks.
