I've been suffering moderate to severe pain since October 2010, when I hurt my back lifting my 40-lb daughter. An MRI showed herniations and T8, T9, and T10, but T9 was the worst and is pressing on my spinal cord. I think he said there were other smaller herniations as well. That being said, I'm in constant pain. When the pain gets to be severe, I either load up on Ibuprofen or take two Percocet. Most of the time, though, I end up suffering through it for a couple of reasons: 1) I can't stand taking medicine, and 2) I am very sensitive to most medications, and I can't stand the side effects. I try to weigh the risks vs benefits when I get to the point that I need to take something for pain. Often times I feel like I'm not doing everything possible because of the fact that I'm not taking any meds. I just get so tired of doctors trying to throw pills at me that make me feel like crap, without trying to fix the problem. Anyone else in the same boat?
