Hi, I am a 43 y/o female. I have 5 bulging disk, one sitting on the sciatic nerve. Three of the bulging disk are in my neck. I'm not sure what hurts the most but, I am in alot of pain in my left leg, butt, lower back and neck. I am also Bipolar and have a "history" of overdose due to depression. I have been with the same Mental Health Clinic for many years and it has been 2 1/2 years since any incidence. I am also in physical therapy. I not being prescribed any narcotic pain meds and I'm advised to use advil or Ibuprophen which do not help. I have also been refered to a pain management center but,the day before my appointment for an interview I was told "there were no services available for you and your appointment is cancelled". ??? When I called them back and left message asking them why, no one responded. I have been prescribed vicodin/percocet a few times for other reason since my last incident but, now because the pain is chronic the dr's don't want to prescribe me anything. I cannot find anything on this kind of topic in the forums so, if you can direct me to a post that will help in my search for what to do in my case, I'd truely appreciate it.

  • hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i am not sure as to where to direct you! i understand you are in alot of pain and cannot get pain medication.. it seems your pain management appointments are being cancelled for no apparent reason and you cannot get hold of the doctor.. this is alot to deal with and i can hear your frustration.. i would like to suggest that there are somne good nerve pain medications out for sciatica that may really help your leg that your pain management doctor could help you with. getting hold of him is another problem!! it might be time to try another!! please have a look around the forum and make yourself at home.. please know that we are always here to chat and listen anytime you want to talk... i hope some of your problems are resolved soon... stop by anytime!! Jenny :)
  • I'm just gonna get a second opinion and take my grandmother who has been a constant advocate in my care. I will look into the nerve meds for my leg because it is very hard to walk and keep ballance. Thank you for the warm welcome Jenny, I'm feeling right at home so far...MsDukes
