WOW! I cannot believe how weak I seem to be! My surgery was on the 9th and I was home on the 11th. No one told be to elevate my legs wile I was sitting. My legs and feet were so swollen and the skin was so tight that it hurt! Dr. said to see my Family Dr. ASAP, Family Dr. sent me for ultrasound of veins in case of blood clots.
The imaging chick had me get into positions that actually made me cry. But I guess it needed to be done. All is fine with them now, still pretty pufffy tho!
I am able to get in and out of bed a LOT easier and same with chairs and the toilet. I have a constant ache/pain in my back that bothers me more than my incision.
I am walking from the back of the house to the front and back (80-100 ft) a few times a day. I am not ready to try the uneven ground of our back yard. I am hoping to walk to the end of the block and back soon. I really like the safe feeling I get using the walker.
The Home Nurse is coming out today, need blood checked, my white count is too high and potassium is too low. Seems the cathater gave me a bladder infection.
Good luck to those going in and happy healing to those on this side.
