Hi, I'm a twenty year old female previously in pretty good health. Heres a little info, I had my daughter nine months ago; Very quick, very easy labor. Ive been having some serious problems since then. First of my coccyx has always been crooked (to the right) since i was little, never has caused me much pain. Now it has shift even more. I have serious lower back pain and hip pain! I went to PT when i was pregnant and told my hips were slightly shifted no biggie. Now for the past nine months I've been in alot of pain mostly at night. Its mostly in my lower back and coccyx and my arms having some shooting pain and always go numb when i'm trying to sleep. I really can't afford health care and my job doesnt offer it until you work there 2years. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing all of this or anything I can do to help! I have to relieve some of this pain I have a full time job and a young child to take care of and I don't want to be in so much pain all the time. Anything at this point can help!!!

  • That`s rough you`re having pain and can`t get healthcare. Can you go to a University hospital in your area and see if they offer free healthcare. I know I tried icing when I had coccyx pain and took Robacin platinum and that helped some what.

Using a donut pillow or a soft cushion to sit on may help and walk daily and try not to sit too much on your bottom. I hope you can get in to see a Dr. soon. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN

  • Sometimes a pregnancy and birth can cause back pain and problems. It sounds like that has happened to you /:)

It does sound like a visit to a spine doctor would be helpful. I don't know how the American system works (sounds like that is where you are), but how about Charry's idea of going to a University hospital?

I would think that a check of your neck would also be a good idea, bearing in mind the shooting pain and numbness in your arms.

You have found a great place for information and support in Spine Health. Do let us know how you get on. :-)
