Discectomy, Laminectomy day 9 success

Feeling good today. Still a bit of swelling in my incision area but not much for pain. Just a bit of tightness.
Nerve pain is slowly subsiding. Enough to stop taking my nerve meds, I think. We'll see how the day goes.
It feels more like a sore muscle than real nerve pain in my hamstring area.
Still some calf muscle weakness and overall soreness.
I'm aware that a lot of this can come and go as recovery happens, as for now I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts and hope it doesn't return.

So far a success story that I wanted to share with those frightened about their pending surgeries.
Listen, listen, listen is my best advice.
Listen to what your doctor tells you NOT to do. Listen to the fabulous advice given here. It makes ALL the difference in the world.

Good luck to all of you :)))

I was recommended a laminectomy on L5 since there is impegement of the nerve roots.

Very scared but I know I can't keep going the way I am not being able to walk more than 3 minnutes woithout severe pain, weakness, and numbness in the toe.
