MRI results: spinal demyelination...need info!

I had an MRI of both my cervical and lumbar spine last friday. the results were given to me by the doctor yesterday and i am very worried. they showed that i have demyelination in my cervical spine (multiple sites) as well as another demyelinated lesion in my lumbar spine. it also showed a small bulge at c6/c7 and a "moderately dessicated" 2 mm disc bulge at l4/l5.

the summary of findings states that i should get a followup MRI of my brain to rule out multiple sclerosis.

i have spent hours googling every combination of spinal cord demyelination you can think of to find some glimmer of hope that there is some other simple reason for the demyelination but almost every search returns articles and information about MS. apparently, cervical demyelination is a common MRI finding with MS.

is there anyone here that has had a similar MRI finding? is there anyone who knows if there are other benign reasons for demyelination? i know this is the spine health forum, but it seems like it is very common to have disc problems and also MS.

i see my doctor tomorrow, and hopefully he will tell me its nothing. in the meantime i am an anxious worried mess! i'm hoping that someone can refer me to some hopeful and encouraging information.
