Hi everyone.

I have been on here a few different times. But it has been a while. So a brief explanation. I injured my back in 2007. In 2008 I had a level one fusion L5-S1 with hardware. in 2009 I went back in and had the hardware removed due to complications with it. I have been on Lortab 7.5 to 10's over the last 4 and a half years and it is now not working. we also have tried numerous mussel relaxers and other meds with no help. My doc has decided to put me on MS-Contin 15mg.
So my ? is. Is the MS-Contin any thing like Oxy-Contin. and has anyone tried it and has it worked for u?

  • I take ms contin. I have not been on oxycontin. They are similiar in that they are both long acting medications. Everyone is different on what medication works for them, but I know that the ms contin is somewhat helpful for me. I am currently on 45mg three times a day, though I started at 15mg twice a day over a year ago. I also take percocet for breakthrough and lyrica.

I think that mscontin is a common first long acting medication. I hope that you experience relief from it.

  • I have been on MS Contin 15 twice a day for 2 years and just now am having an increase in dose. It has worked very well for me. I had a L4/5 fusionn in 2008 and removal of the hardware in 2010. I have just started pain management.

I hope it provides you some relief.

    Best wishes,
