Hello all~my experience is complicated & exacerbating. You see, my husband & I move A LOT because of his job. It is impossible for me to get adequate health care this way. I am at my wits end. Here is where I am now:
Currently my symptoms include severe pain in shoulder blades radiating into arms. Also experiencing numbness/tiredness in arms & hands. Feels like someone pulled my arm out of it's socket.
Just had a myleogram done Thursday (with TERRIBLE spinal headache) so I don't have those results yet. OS is referring me to a surgeon in the next state I will be moving to. He will review test results & decide if I need surgery.
CT in '08 showed disc herniation at C6-7 below the fusion/discectomy I already had in 2002. CT also showed spondylisthesis & bone spurs. EMG/NCS in 2010 showed radiculopathy in left arm/hand. Had carpal tunnel release in both hands in '95 & '96.
Current meds are 5/500 Lortab every 12hrs & Mobic 5mg 1x a day with no refills. I am moving this weekend & waiting for OS referral. As usual, I will be running out of pain meds. This is a normal occurance for me. Doesn't matter, I still hurt anyway.
I was previously on 10/650 Lortab & 30 mg Kadian. In the past I have been prescribed Percocet, MSER, Neurontin, Cymbalta, Lyrica, Flexeril, Celebrex, countless other meds, and unfortunately this summer was on the EVIL Fentanyl patches.
I am so tired of going to new pain doctors, neurologists, orthopaedists, etc. I have had nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, physical therapy, epidural injections, you name it. I am just not getting the care I need because I am never in one place long enough. It is maddening!!!! Sorry this is so long.
