How long after ACDF can you go into a swimming pool to relax, not to swim?

  • You should ask your doctor that. It would have to do with your incision and if all the bandages are off and how it is healing.

I went to a hotel about 1 month post op and went swimming in the pool. I am sure you could go in before a month. Just ask your doc.

Another surgery in the near future. I am 26 years old.

Current Meds- Norco 7.5/325, Cymbalta 60mg, Gabapentin, Adderall 20mg
  • My doctor made me wait 6 weeks, and then only walking and back strokes. Forward strokes with head up were too much flex he said.

Just my experience though. Give your doc's office a call!
  • We are going on vacation in 3 weeks, and I want to get in the pool and relax, also I have psorasis so when im cut,my skin heals really fast,so I know in 3 weeks it should be good,at least I hope.We had done paid for vaction and then my neck gets the nerve problems.
