Numbness when moving neck

So I have a pinched ulnar nerve in my right elbow, which i can account for the pinky/ring finger numbness and arm pain following the ulnar nerve route.

my question is has anyone experienced numbness in the hands (mine is strictly the right) when rotating their neck? its primarily the palm side of my hand, thumb, and first two fingers.

im 9 months c6/7 post op, have had EMG's, MRI's and x-rays, i do have a disc osteophyte at c5/6 now, the MRI reports showed it is into the central cord, but they are saying its not into the nerve root.

no DR can seem to explain why i only have numbness in my hand when rotating my neck, curious if anyone had any thoughts.

  • I've had numbness in my hand, but not strictly when turning my head. That's an odd thing.

My first thought was since your surgery was at the C6/7 level which moves most when your head moves, that maybe your hardware is pressing on a nerve when you move your head. This is just a stab in the dark, but if you do have hardware, it might be something to consider. However, I don't know what, if anything, a doctor would do about that.

Just a thought, for what it's worth.
