Not so bad... 2.5 weeks post ALIF

Hey all,
Just thought I'd check in. Things are not that bad. I'm almost 3 weeks post ALIF, and feeling pretty good. My pre surgical pain is gone, and all I have now is surgical pain. Abdomin, incision, and achy achy back. I'm walking a few times a day up and down the street in front of the house, and feeling ok.
I had my post surgical follow up last thursday and doc said everything is on track. I've been refered to pain mgmt doc, and got my pain meds switched up. Oxycontin 3 x a day, and I hardly need anything else. Before, i was on Oxycontin 2 times a day and 2 Percocet 3x525 every 4 hours. so 3 oxycontin seems a better deal than all that percoet and acetominophin.

I finally took a shower after 2 weeks without, and it was pure heaven. That no rinse shampoo stuff sucks. It just doesn't work. Maybe if you had really short hair, but for my shoulder length hair - it sucked.

hubby shaved my legs today... slowly starting to resemble a human again.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about my outcome. :-)

  • Glad to hear you are doing well. My mom is having a 3 level (l3-s1) AILF right now, seriously... she is in the OR right now. I am hoping and praying she will get some relief from this.
