Chronic Pain Treatment Centers

Hello All,

Well, I found my way to this forum after spending time in the neck surgery forum. :( I am 4 months post two level ADCF and that is healing just fine; there are no concerns. The problem is that the bad disks, clearly, were not the root cause of my pain that I have had for two years. I have tried every treatment, injections, therapy, etc.

The surgeon released me at 3 months and sent me to a D.O. and a pain management doc. I also continue to go to PT and now acupuncture (again). I need to see a psychologist, but after 2 bad experiences and the little time that's left in the week after trying to get my hours in at work and get to all the aforementioned appointments, well, I just haven't fit it in yet. The problem is that the psychological issues are only worsening so I desperately need help there too.

I feel strongly that I need to seek the comprehensive care of a pain management center and am seriously considering the inpatient variety. I am impressed with what I read online with the program at John Hopkins as well as the Mayo clinic. Does anyone know who has the reputation as being “the best”? If I am going to do this, I definitely want the help of the best and the brightest. I hope my insurance offers good coverage!

If anyone has some words of wisdom, experience to share and/or recommendations.....I would love to hear from you.

Thanks a bunch!
