Hello everyone,

My name's Amanda, I'm 24 years old from the UK. I've been suffering from lower back pain radiating into my buttocks, thighs and legs for 18 months yet I'm still no closer to a diagnosis after MRIs, xrays, blood tests etc. No trauma/injury prior to pain, it just started one day and got gradually worse. Pressing on my lower back is very painful, especially on the spine/joint areas. I've tried physiotherapy, cortisone injections, NSAIDS yet nothing has relieved my symptoms. Currently taking 4 Tramadol a day just to take the edge off the pain so I can function!

I'm a student studying Illustration, however, my back problem is causing me much concern for when I graduate as I have had to give up part-time work and have no idea if I can make a career for myself seeing as sitting in a chair (despite an orthopedic pillow) is now becoming more and more painful.

Have become almost reclusive as a result of it, the emotional stress is wearing me down in a big way especially as my Rhuematologist has given up diagnosing me and is just offering me pain relief (which isn't working).

Would be great to share some experiences with everyone, I'm desperate at this point - feels like doors are closing for and I'm only 24 years old.
