I'm scheduled for an ESI tomorrow but the past few weeks I haven't had much if any leg pain its just mostly central lower back pain. Will it even help for lower back pain?

..know what the documentations says...but my doc did give injection when my lower back out of control pain.

It was effective for me...but the injections for thoracic area not good..so we do not even attempt them any more.

Mostly for my injections..I notice improvement day or two later.

Good luck to you and hope you are feeling better soon!

When I was getting getting ESI's. To hopefully stave of surgery. I was like you, pain wise, I didn't have a lot of leg pain. Mostly bad, bad pain in the lower lumbar.
They didn't cure me. But they worked for a couple of years. And if my line of work wasn't so abusive. Who knows how effective they would have been, for how long.
But they did work well enough to get a few more years added to my retirement!
I hope you give them a try and I hope you get some good results.
I always got mine on a Friday so I'd have all week end to stay flat on my back and keep the stuff in my lower back. Rather than being upright and the stuff leaking down lower.
    Good luck, Jim

  • Why just an ESI? Can you ask your Dr. about facet joint injections or trigger point injections? I had them all done at one time 8 facet joint injections and the ESI. That way it covered my lower back pain and leg pain. Best wishes. Charry
