Having problems controlling my pain after 2 years from last surgery. Tried various pain meds from the not so bad boys to the wicked ones. Last was Fentanyl patches 100 mcg every 48 hours and percs for breakthrough but now for the last year Ive been on Methadone 10mg three times a day and percs 10mg 2 @ 6 hours for b/t pain. I can hardly move anymore. If I do NOTHING all day I can handle it with the meds I am on. If i try to do anything, I'm screwed. Can anyone give me their advice. I have a pain management appointment tomorrow and cant stand this anymore.

I Been down the exact same road ..... only thing that has kinda worked for me is:

    1. Drug "holiday" detox from opiates .... inpatient if needed or out patient with Suboxone.(reset Mu Opiate receptors in brain as they are currently saturated - (one therory)).

    2. Rotate opiates .... like change to MSContin and vicodin .... or Opana and MS IR.

Many of us with chronic pain will have issues with ongoing pain medication managment.

Let us know which way(s) you go??
