Tylenol 3 after L5/S1 fusion

I am currently on 10 mg of Percocet every four hours, but will be out by tomorrow and my doctor is switching me to Tylenol 3. I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience of going from Percocet to T3s? My doctor preferred Vicodin, but I'm allergic to it. I'm concerned it won't help my pain, but I'm not all too sure how bad my pain is right now as the Percocet keeps it at bay pretty well. My doctor's nurse made it sound like the T3s will feel like I'm not on anything at all, so I'm really nervous. Thanks for any input you can give me on this.

  • Why is your doctor not keeping you on percocet or lowering the percocet dose? Tylenol 3 is very weak compared to percocet 10mg.

  • Short of them saying that Percocet is a major narcotic and they want to put me on something else. They prefer Vicodin (which I thought was a major narcotic still) but since I'm allergic they went to T3. I'm nervous about how I will feel when I'm on it. I will run out of my Percocet tonight and start T3 tomorrow morning. I was taking two 10 mg pills at a time, but have gotten down to just taking one three times a day.
