next month. I know I am in good hands (Hospital for Special Surgery), but I'm very nervous.

I have used a wheelchair my whole life. I have had over 30 orthopedic surgeries in my life. I also have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine every night.

My doctor said because of all my issues he wants to have an ear nose and throat doctor present during the surgery. He also said that I will be kept asleep for at least 24 hours with a breathing tube in case there is swelling and I can't breathe on my own. This is what scares me. Has anyone else had this experience?
