Stairs After Two Level ACDF

I'm going to be recovering on the lower floor of my house, where I'm most comfortable. BUT--there isn't a bathroom down there. Will I be able to go up and down stairs to use the bathroom?

  • I am approx 17 days past my c5,6 and 7 acdf surgery. I am able to go up and down the stairs. My only advice is to keep your trips to a minimum because you will be winded and a little unsteady. I am feeling pretty good although I am having the swallowing problems you have probably heard about. Today I ate a few cheese ravioli's. Mostly I eat popsicles, apple sauce, protein shakes etc. I am having spasms in my neck and still pain in my arm like before the surgery. My scar is healing nicely as well. I have my days where I regret having this done but I have been suffering for 6 months since a bad car accident. Good Luck!
  • Thanks for sharing about your recovery!
