I just found this forum this morning and wanted to say hi!

I just met with the neurologist last week after my MRI. Herniated L4/L5 and L5/S1. He has turned me over to the spinal doc in the same clinic and I meet with him this afternoon. My pain started in my hip a few months ago and within a few weeks moved down my leg into my calf and foot with is pins/needles/numbness. The pain in the morning is so bad I cry and scream out. This usually last for 2 hours or so. I was given 10mg Norco with instructions to take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed. This doesn't seem to take the edge off the pain. I haven't been able to drive for the past 7 days or so because that position is just too painful. I was given a back brace that helps some. It's an "Ossur Miami Lumbar" and it seems to help some what. Hopefully I can start with some cortisone injections this week and that will bring some relief.

I'm going to start reading all these posts today. What a relief to know I'm not alone!

  • It's been a while since I've posted and I feel a re-introduction is called for.

I've much reading to do before I make a post In the condition threads. My last posts were following my first double discectomies (L4/L5 & L5/S1) and it feels like I've been ran through the wringer since.

In short, I had to have the discectomies repeated within 15 months and following my second surgery was diagnosed with RA and AS.

So Hello! And here's hoping that our sharing will lead to some comfort.
