16 week post op check up, told of yet more anomalies

Hi all, had my check today and xray looked good, fusion is happening, (congenital fusion of c3/4, two corpectomy, replaces with two cages, one top plate and 6 screws from c5 -c7 fused from 4 -7.)

but still in lots of pain, constant pain in back of head, still pain down right arm/hand... still difficulty walking, heavy painful legs with shooting pains... lower back feels so bad at times i just have to stop walking and wait a while before i can take another step.

today i was told that not only do i have congenital fusion of c3/4 but that there were other 'anomalies' with the nerves.

no further exploration of lower back until a year after this op as he thinks that would be too much pain... am already in such pain my brain freezes at times! i just hope no permanent damage is being done in lower back while we wait!

i am going to request to see my notes from the hosp. i want to really understand what is going on and why. in the meantime i just have to have patience!

thanks for all your support.... please keep it coming!! :-(

  • Welshlady I am sorry about the continuing spinal issues you are suffering, we all feel your pain and frustration. Every day is an unknown for us and I pray that you will find some relief even only half a day. God knows how many times I came here looking for support and since my mom and dad died I have not been here for other people, my other family. Wishing for anything better for you. God Bless, Joe
