Since 2008 I have been battling symptoms from something thats yet to be diagnosed. I started out having a nasty flu which lead to daily persistent headaches shortly after.
To date I experience neck pain, constant head pressure, visual floaters, intermittent facial tingling and arm tingling which is more left sided, brain fog, and a sense of being hungover while completely sober.
I've seen several neurologists, neurosurgeons, chiropractors, internists, etc...Gone through MRI's, MRA's, CT Scans, tmj mouth splints, tested for lyme's disease, celiacs, etc...
The only issue that was discovered is disc herniation at C3/4 and C5/6. The herniation is more to the left as well. The neurosurgeon doesn't suggest surgery at this point. He states it would help with the left arm tingling but the head pressure and other symptoms arent likely related to my neck problems. He said if the herniation was higher up it could cause headaches and facial tingling but not as far down as they are.
He recommends me having a lumbar puncture to see if there could be a viral infection that set in when I originally got the flu in 2008. I'm not sure if this many years later it would even be beneficial.
Could herniation at the levels I'm experiencing cause all the crazy symptoms I experience on a daily basis?
