Hi I am new here, I started having pains in my left hip about 2 weeks ago but pretty much ignored it. Then last week all of a sudden it was like my one side was on fire. It felt like a toothache in my bones, my left leg was numb, and the pain was so bad I collapsed. I haven't been able to go to work (no sick pay of course) and I finally got an appt with my doctor for tomorrow. I was reading some of the posts and it is very helpful to see people who feel the same way. Hopefully we will all feel better!

  • First let me say welcome to spine-health. Have a look around and you will find many with the same issues. Hopefully, your doctor will ordering some images to rule out anything major. Sometimes it can be a pulled muscle and they really do smart. Don't be surprised if your doctor orders physical therapy, as that is standard protocol for these types of injuries. If that is the case be sure to tell the therapist if the pain increases for any reason with the therapy.

    Once again welcome to spine-health.
  • thank you Tam Tam, it's awful, it radiates from my lower back, butt, and then down my left leg.. Since I couldnt get an appt right away I've done cold and then hot therapy and once I could move stretches. I even took out an old bottle of neurontn (I've had trigiminal neuralgia) hoping that might work! This is a nice forum!
