Hi everyone. I was just curious about pre op medications. My last surgery was extensive, so I wasn't surprised that I was asked to take medicine before hand. However I was a little surprised that I'm taking the exact same things preoperatively for a relatively minor surgery (3 hours) coming up. The medicines are bactran I believe, a nose gel I have to put in morning and evening two days before surgery (Suppose to help with MRSA, though I've never tested positive for it) and then the morning of surgery I am to take 2 celebrex and 1 lyrica to aid with leg pain related to surgery. Is this SOP for most spine surgeries?
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.
