Hi my accident happen on feb 25 2013. i had a slip and fall accident in my house on a 6inch step:( going into my den!Wow how embarrasing this is. I am into this about 3 months and about a week, Yes i can walk but with lots of discomfort. No therapy as of yet. just with the tens machine on my neck and limited on my back. I feel so helpless cuz i dont feel like i am healing yet. I feel Iike i have this big ball in my back thats how i can describe what i feel or like i am sitting and have something thats pertrudding out of it.,(although i dont). I dont know what this is from. I have kaiser and I really dont like how my care is being managed:(.. i had a cat scan and they said they found a fracture at c5 c6 in neck along with my back, I was put in a neck brace for about 2 weeks. about a month into my drama i passed out in the morning when I got up to use the toliet and broke my front tooth, 911 rushed me to er where they ran another ct and determined no fract in neck???? what the hell, I had been wearing this neck brace for already 2 weeks and body brace. They never told me why i passed out and if i actually injured my self more, Doc called me to tell me to take off my neck brace said they must read my results wrong huhhhh. All I know i am not back to work yet, I do drive but very cautious due to not being able to move my neck to check my blind side. Oh and I also broke my foot in the first fall, but i did not see reason to mention it due to the fact its alredy healed. My back is what worries me. Is Anybody out there having the same wierd feeling in there back at the fracture area??

  • Thank you Liz, hopefullly as you stated I can find others like me:) I just cant wait till this ordeal ends!!!
  • Don't be afraid to be pushy. You didn't mention where you live, so that could affect how Kaiser runs in your area. I would ask for the name and number of the Orthopedic Department manager. Call and explain your situation and that you request their help in being seen by the right Doctors and get some answers about what is wrong and what can be done to improve. Unfortunately, in health care everywhere, you are the primary manager of your own care.

I hope you have some relief soon.
