I'm a 66 year old Grandmother. I have my C6, 7, 8, fusion, a L4, L5, fusion, and just been diagnosed, after almost 3 years of terrible buttocks and right hip pain, with a Si joint problem. I also have a right knee partial replacement and need a full left knee replacement, after my Si joint is fixed. I have Osteoarthritis, Fibromylagia, Post Polio Syndrome, and osteopenia. Depite the pain, I do keep as active as I can. I have raised 4 daughters, and have had over 250 foster children, since 1972. I now have a autistic, non verbal, very bright, 31yr old, foster daughter. I have been on pain meds since for about 6 years. My last back surgery was done in 2001. In July 2010, I was rear ended in a auto accident. The car that hit me was a mustang and I have a Buick, Regal. Her car went under mine and I came up, hit the ceiling with my head, which caused terrible pain when I came back down. There is no give when your back and neck are fused. My pain Dr did caudal blocks, which didn't help. She just upped my OpanaER to 90mgs, and Norco's for in between pain. Recently I asked to be reduced on the Opana, so I now only take 40mgs a day. I know now that I really have a major knee and horrible buttocks and hip pain. My knee surgeon sent me to aNeurosurgeon here, who after all the Drs. I have been to, finally knew what was causing this pain. I will be getting a injection in the Si joint on July 8th.I have since looked it up on the internet and found this site. I am so grateful there are people who really understand what I have been dealing with. My pain Dr also tried to put a spinal cord stimulator in me. She couldn't for some reason, get it high enough, and only left it in for a day and a half. She attempted this procedure 3 times. I have had many other surgeries through the years, but God gives me the strength to keep going on everyday. I really did try to make this short, but then you really know enough about me.
