spinal fractures from plane crash

i live in the bay area and as you know there was a major crash on landing that killed two people and injured scores others. as i continued to read, the majority of injuries are spinal fractures due to the pressure of the crash. having back and chronic pain over the years, i feel for these poor people. my thoughts and prayers are for them and hopefully their pain issues can get resolved. hopefully they get good doctors, neuro, orhto, and pain doctors to treat them. san francisco is a very liberal area but i don't know the overall policies for treating chronic pain. i am sure the majority of spinal fracture patients will have chronic pain issues for the rest of their lives. hope they get the kind of treatment that chronic pain people should get. if i read more about what is going on medically with spine issues, i will let you know
I have 4 fusions from L5-3, the latest last May '12 where they fixed my disc that broke. They went through my side this time. I take 40 mg of oxycontin 4x a day and 4 fenatyl lollipops 300 micro gms 4x a day.

I heard one of the doctors say today that one patient has complete paralysis so really feel for that person. I do also feel for those whom are injured with any type of injury, as you never know which injury is going to lead to life long issues.Hopefully even the ones with spinal fractures will heal and they will not end up leading a life of chronic pain. When I heard the news I began to pray for them, as I really hope no one has to experience chronic pain. But as always when a new person lands here we will be ready to help them through the process of learning to live with chronic pain.

I must say, I hadn't considered the numerous spinal injuries that occurred as a result of this accident. But my heart goes out to them as well and hope they are able to access first rate treatment.

years ago i was landing at LAX and the pilot came in too hot. the plane hit hard, very hard. i had the wind knocked out of me and the hard landing put pressure on my back. this was before by surgeries. i had back pain for a few days afterward. at that time, pilots left the door open to thank passengers and the guy before me sarcastically said good landing. the pilot just kept his head down and did not look up or at the guy. one has to be cful when flying, especially landing. my brother in law is a pilot and he brags about his soft landing
