I had the SCS from Boston Scientific implanted in my back last yr. It worked wonderfully for my low back pain and leg pain. I decided to try that after 6 back surgeries which included 2 spinal fusions. I now don't have my bottom 3 disks. I've always recharged my battery for the SCS when needed and have replaced the batteries in my remote only once.
Two days ago, I went to turn my unit on and increase the sensation, it did not work. There is one program that I use almost all the time but it was not working. I tried the other programs and only 2 of the 4 programs on my remote were working. I called my boston scientific rep and she walked me through reprogramming and got it working but the problem is that I have to turn the sensation up so far to get the said program to work that at times I am getting a real jolt. This real jolt is coming out of nowhere and when it hits, it hits! WOW!!! I was at a soccer game watching a grandson play. I was just sitting on a bleacher and all of a sudden, I got a jolt. Thought I was going to scream. It hit me so hard. COuldn't do anything. Could not move.
I haven't talked with rep again but am calling her this morning. Yesterday she said for me not to be concerned with how far the bar fills up on remote screen. Excuse me! I have to be concerned with the jolt I got from it last night. It use to fill to about 20% full and worked fine up until two days ago. NOw in order to get it to work at all it is probably 75%full. Only 2 other programs are working right but there not the ones I use the most or gives me the right relief. I am writing this wondering if there is anyone else out there who has experienced this or going through this right now.
Like I said, I had this implanted last yr and had no problems til 2 days ago. The rep also said that a lead in my back probably shifted causing this but since I got it to work to be concerned. If she only could feel the jolt I felt last night.
