1 level ACDF 3 level laminectomy same surgery

had my 2nd opinion today. Nuero wants to do 1 level ACDF and 3 level laminectomy all at once. Anyone ever had this done? he said doing 4 level ACDF would really be hard on my throat among other things. I have stenosis, disc herniations and bone spurs throughout my cervical spine. ACDF would be C3-4 with the laminectomy C4-5,5-6,6-7 .
Cervical 360 ACDF C6/7-C7T1 Posterior fusion with hardware C3-T1 11/11/13

  • A laminectomy is opening open the lamina ( covering over the nerve roots) without removing it .........ACDF is anterior discectomy, with fusion, so what he wants to do is open up the nerve root exits at the other levels, leaving them intact, but widening the area, and fusing the one level.
