So, I have gone for my 3 month follow-up. I finally get the collar removed, and can drive again even though I am still in pain and on morphine? Makes no sense to me? But what do I know?? I begged to go back to work and he approved it part time, I just cannot stand being at home any longer!! As I said, I am still in pain, am still on morphine and I asked if there was any sign of bone growth and he kind of laughed and said not really that it could take up to 2 years to fuse. He said everything looks solid and he doesn't see any reason for it not to fuse. Does this sound normal?? Does it make any sense?? I am worried and the thought of another surgery scares the heck out of me! I can only work part time right now and if I don't improve I don't know what I am going to do!! The pain is still pretty bad and I have only been back to work for 2 days and am hoping it will get better with time. Any thoughts, suggestions, input or advice????
