Sciatica!!! what's the next step help

Hi all ! I've been suffering with back pain for 4 months now I bent over and something pinged in my back and I couldn't move ! my doctor suspects this was probably a herniated disc he suggested pain killer and sent me on my merry way ! It gradually seem to ease but I was left with a continued pain stretching from my right buttock and a tingly sensation in my leg . The doc referred me to the physio who had been working with me for a couple of weeks then i herniated my disc again . Not as bad as the first time but required a couple of days bed rest ! But has left me with worsened sciatica its so intense I can only stand for a few minuets I'm trying to do my exercises and have continued to work but its just miserable nothing seems to relieve it not even pain killers ( paracetamol and ibuprofen ) I'm 28 years old and otherwise fit and health I've got a 2year little one and work full time so life is pretty hectic ! I desperately need suggestions of what I should do next ? What have others tried ? Thank you

  • My first suggestion is to find a Neurosurgeon or an Orthopedic specialist. Talk with them and see what they want to do. When it comes to nerve issue, the sooner you get help for it, the better. If you have a nerve that is compressed it can do some serious damage and could be permanent. So definitely find one of those doctors and get their opinion(s). Let us know what happens!

By the way, welcome to the forums.
