Thoracic Discectomy/Fusion T4-T9 with Costotransversectomy

I am 7 months post surgery and even though I am feeling better I have since developed a few annoying deficits. For example; When I had my surgery I awoke from the procedure and couldn't feel my right leg. I wasn't paralyzed because I could move my feet but my right leg was very numb and I had major pins and needles feeling.

Just recently I developed a new pain in my lower right leg that is so bad that if I don't take my gabapentin I will feel some serious pain. I have burning and numbness at times that comes up the leg into my calf. I don't have any problems with my left leg though you would think I would. What I have noticed is that my lower back has begun to hurt more lately. I pinched a nerve a week or so ago and it practically put me in bed for a few days. I went to the doc and was given prednisone and another muscle relaxant which released the nerve pain but it was pretty bad.

Has anyone else had these type of symptoms after having any type of back and/or neck surgeries? I am no novice when it comes to surgeries, I have had 2 major ones that could have paralyzed me completely. I am an incomplete Quadriplegic C5-C6 from my cervical Stenosis with myelopathy and now I have thoracic stenosis with myelopathy as well as central cord syndrome. I wish I could hear from you out there who have been dealt the same hand.

Unfortunately this was brought about by military operations in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I am compensated for my injuries and for my secondary's due to my primary issues. I have it all, Neurogenic bladder, neurogenic bowel, erectile dysfunction, chronic pain, depression due to chronic pain and the list can go on and on.

Thanks for listening to this Veteran and I hope to hear from you out there .

Just want to thank you for serving our country. I know no amount of money is worth your health tho.

I have nothing as severe medically so cannot advise or even discuss. But I can listen.
