Should a fractured vertabrae restore to normal size?

Hi, 3 months ago I had a burst fracture to l2 and it was crushed to about 50%. I have just been back for a check up and x ray and it still looks about 60% of the size it should be and the endplates look uneven. I had hardware put in to stabilise it at the time and I expected this would have sorted it. Has anyone else noticed this when they have been back for a checkup?
Thanks Garry

  • I would think that just common physiology would dictate that it wouldn't restore to the normal height. Things that are damaged rarely do.
