When I had knee surgery a couple years ago, I had the most amazing physical therapist. They worked with me for nearly 3 hours a day, three times a week, for about a year (before and after surgery). They truly rehabbed my knee to a point where it wouldn't cause future problems.
Now I'm in physical therapy for my back and I'm really disappointed and frustrated.
My first appointment with the doctor lasted 5 minutes. He didn't look at my back, or range of motion, or loss of strength. Basically just said, here's what we're going to do.
Next appointment was Graston technique. I did 5 minutes walking on the treadmill, about 5 minutes of Graston, and 10 minutes of ice. The Graston was focused on about the 4 inch square around my incision, never mind the fact that my entire back hurts. I didn't really notice any difference from the Graston.
Next week I have a day in the pool, hopefully that's better...
