Hi all,
So on October 21 I had a Occuput- C2 fusion. I was recently released to take off my cervical collar and had found a very painful hard bump on the back of my skull. When I say very painful I mean VERY painful. I can't even have very light touch without unbearable pain. We say my neurosurgeon and he said it was the plate. Has anyone been able to feel their plate? Also today I laid down and it was a lot more painful then usual so I went to feel the bump and it has became more pointy and has changed what it originally felt like which was smooth, hard, painful and round. Now it has a point on it and is even more painful. Had anyone else had this? Was it worse than just the plate. My neurosurgeon said that she could feel both sides of the plate but she was feeling the side of my skull which has always had a slight bulge which has it on both sides. My biggest worry is missing something large. I will be entering inpatient rehab soon, should I ask the docs there? I would love to hear your responses!
