Neck muscle pain after bone fusion c5c6

I had bone fusion surgery in Dec. 2012 and am having severe neck muscle pain mostly on my left side in the muscle that extends down on top of shoulder. Seems it is brought on more by walking. New MRI doesn't show anything, now they wanna do pyhiscal therapy. I don't see how this is gonna help and from what others say its not gonna help. But I gotta try something.

Hopefully it is entirely muscular and PT does help. I know how frustrating that pain is since I too have neck issues. I had ACDF in 2010. Hope that you feel better real soon. Keep your chin up....if you can raise it. haha. Not funny I know but sometimes laughing beats crying right??
