Most hospitals have some kind of support group program or can give you the information for ones in your area.

You can find support here, but for real life support you need to check with your local hospitals or mental health organizations . Some of your doctors may be aware of support groups locally for those who suffer from the same conditions......and if not, talk to your hospital about starting one......I'm sure that there are others who would appreciate the real life support, and it might help you in getting one going......
  • Occasional ignorance of other pains 'beneath' their own and potential disregard for others who complain about them or loathing of the well.
  • We're about the same age, do you have kids? I know it's so hard at times. When you say "medications got me into the chronic pain game to begin with" what do you mean? Do you believe meds caused your fibromyalgia? I'm sorry if you've already been through this here. I can't find the information.

My PM clinic has a pain therapist on staff. She's not like a regular psychiatrist, she went through my day with me & helped to develop coping techniques just to make things more manageable. It was covered by my insurance (unlike most alternative treatments) & really helped. I think a specialist like that would know of support groups or maybe organize one. It's worth a try.

I hope things are looking up a little for you now. Chronic pain gets to all of us. You're doing the right thing looking for help, it's twice as hard handling this on our own. I don't live in your area, I wish I could help more.
