Can pain get worse after steroid injections?

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I am undergoing IVF and at the same time as this started, my back went ! Typically bad timing !! I have long term degeneration although am only 40. I did the physio route first but the sciatic type pain didn't get any better. To try and get some pain relief in before going further with IVF I had 10 steroid injections and an epidural. This was not the ideal route but the only option under the circumstances. This was 4 weeks ago and I'm now in excruciating pain I have had to stop co-codomol and can only take paracetemol now but I can't believe that it is just that. I'm in more pain now than I was before the injections. Any advice would be welcome. I'm going out of my mind with the pain. I'm back at physio today but as it seems to be nerve compression it's almost impossible to get into the area - isn't it? The only thing that seems to have helped is walking. But I can't do that non stop and really need to get back to work ! Help please. TIA
