L4L5 spinal fusion

Hi all,

I had a spinal fusion on the 22-10-2013.I was feeling quite good after 3 months of rest,so I went back to work I am in the building trade,but just decorating at the moment.if I don't work the pain level drops to a 3or4 but when I do work it shoots to 6or7.i had lifted the odd heavy thing or 2.I still struggle to put my socks on in morning without a lot of pain.Have I gone back to work to soon or is it my job too mutch for me.how long does a L4L5 fusion take to fully get over,anyone no please.
