I had a spinal fusion S1-L5 with pedicle screws and rods: 4 screws and 2 rods.
This was done in March 2006.
I now have a round scab / sore on my lower back that is red and irritated. From the roundish shaped sore is a line that goes upwards, which is also red, swollen and irritated.

Could this be a latent reaction to pedicle screws and rods corroding in my body?
This all stated after taking a job where I have to sit all day in a cube farm (desk with tons of cubes in a big room).
I get up as much as possible, but really am sitting alot.
I noticed pain and irritation and hotness and looked one day to see this scab.
It's in the flat part of my lower back with the L2 L3 seem to be, but the area is flat and bony---
My insurance kicks in-in a few weeks. I will call a doctor and get this checked but am not even sure where to start?
Orthopedic Surgeon? Neurosurgeon? I refuse to go back to the Cleveland Clinic, I've been in pain since I had the surgery and have serious nerve pain issues.

Anyone else have this issue this late in life after a surgery like this?

Any shared experiences, information, etc. will be appreciated.
Seek Urgent care, could be infected-red line and hot, please seek help now!
