I would really like to hear some opinions on my post.
I have a nice little cocktail of lower back issues including stenosis, sciatica, scoliosis and a host of muscle tension issues that are related. Almost 100% of the time I am experiencing pain at some level. Often at high levels... I think of myself as having a high tolerance for pain but in the end, it wears me out.
I am taking neurontin, tramadol, mtaxalone, and nabumetone for the pain/muscle tension. The tramadol (50 to 100mg per day depending on the day) and Gabapentin (600mg per day) seem to work well. The nabumetone might as well be Aleve. Metaxalone I take sparingly only at night.
My issue is that every time I mention to my doctor that I need more tramadol he looks at me like I am a junkie. I am so tired of this. I take a very small dosage! Is this really something that I should be getting such a hard time about?
I would really like to hear opinions on this. I am well aware of the potential for addiction but I have to weight that against my ability to function in the real world.
Do I need a new doctor or is he being reasonable?
