setting up for after surgery

Hello all, I hope this is the right forum to place this question. I am having ALIF L4-L5 and L5-S1 in two weeks and I'm trying to prepare my house, children and family for what I know is going to be a not fun time. My parents bought me a recliner that takes me from sitting to standing and it is currently in my living room. My youngest children (twin 4 year olds) will be home for the first five days after I am home from the hospital and then heading to Camp Grandma so that I can really focus on my recover. 'm wondering if the placement of this recliner is the best. I know that it just depends on the person as to whether they are primarily using a recliner or bed and at this point the bed is going to be the only option where I don't have 6 people in and out. The original thought was to have the recliner out in the main area so that I can be out and around with everyone but especially the same kiddos who I am concerned about.

Thanks for your time

I am 5 mos post op from the same survey and for the first couple months i had to sleep in a recliner. My beds were all to high off the floor. I am still having pain issues and they could not do my l/4 and l/5 I had injections in my left and right silica joints because my back locked up. I had an MRI on May 27. I'm praying it looks good and I am just waiting for time to heal. I hope you do great
