So I'm on Soma and Norco for 3 bad discs in my neck and I'm saving up the money for a fusion surgery. My Dr originally prescribed on the norco 1 every 6 hours. I told him it would wear off at about 3-4 hours so he changed it to 1 every 4-6 hours with a quantity of 90. I called his office the other day to get a refill on them and his nurse informed me that I took too many because it is a one month supply.
I told her that I take 1 every 4 hours which only gives me 15 days on a 90 quantity. I thought that at 1 every 4-6 hours translated too me being allowed to have 4-6 per day. According to her I'm only allowed 3 a day because she said it says as needed. I told her that it wears off at 3-4 hours thats why he changed the script so I stay on top of it by taking one every 4 hours because it is "as needed" if I push it and wait the 6 hours or more then I have a hard time getting the pain back under control.
So she made me feel really bad, like I was an addict cause I took too many. Am I figuring this up wrong or is the nurse? I go by what the bottle says. If I knew it was a one month supply which is 3 a day then I would have done that. But shouldn't the bottle then say one 3x daily or 1 every 8 hours. I have an appt Tuesday because she refused to send in a refill so I'm out of pain meds, upset at the accusatory and manner she talked to me and just plain frustrated and confused.
Does anyone have any advice?
