Still in pain!

Hello ...

Had Microdiscectomy surgery on 4/21/14 had a massive herniated disk... was taking Hydromorphone but currently on 800mg Ibuprofen (seems to work best now), had my 4 week check up, doctor said nerve sometimes takes a while to recuperate - tomorrow I start PT but ....

I'm seriously nervous about this lingering pain ... The pain shooting down my leg brings back memories of how I was feeling before the surgery. Yes, it's true, I'm no longer in excrutianting pain, nor am I crying, but ....

This pain does NOT seem to subside, I'm still in constant pain (0-10) I'll say a 5 ... The pain that shoots on my thigh, is still pretty excrutiating along with the pain on the back of my calf, when I sit as I do at work, it's worse. I do try and get up and walk around as much as possible, but this nerve is driving me CRAZY! ... I want to be active once again, go swimming, ride my bike, tired of just walking ... am I just hoping for a miracle here?

I'm so scared the surgery did not work, it's like I'm trying to be positive, but this constant pain is not helping :-(

The reason for this is having multiple threads on the same subject can reduce the number of responses, plus it creates confusion for the rest of the member community. Members do not know which thread to respond to. Then in the end you may have a number of different responds in different threads. Any thread continuity is then lost.
