pain and numbness in thigh years after back surgery help!

Back in 2009 i had a laminectomy and fusions i believe entire lumbar section L1-S1 for chronic pain due to scoliosis and a hemivertibrae, have 2 rods and 8 screws and a cage holding my entire lumbar section..i have still experienced lower pain since..but now lately id say about 3 weeks now i am having pain and numbness in my left thigh on the front above my knee and throughout the out side..at times mostly at night i experience an excruciating pain throughout the front of my thigh as though something is tearing into me an my thigh is being torn to shreds..if i move a bit an take deep breaths is subsides..but throughout the day there is always a numb sensation and a throbbing slight pain...how after all these years and all this hatdware am i feeling this what could it be? Please help me to find an answer am months away from seeing my neuro...
