have I lost my arm?

I have been diagnosed with a slipped disc due to cervical spondylosis and spinal stenosis. But the worst thing is that I lost my left arm. The strength of my left arm has been considerably reduced. I cannot even lift 2 kilos with my left arm. The medical report says that my left deltoid, biceps, trapezius and extensor muscles have been affected. I am really worried about my arm. My orthopedic surgeon is not giving me the big picture. I just want to know if my arm will be alright as it was before. He said it is a neuropraxia. But neuropraxias will heal completely. Why did lose the strength in my arm? It has been three months guys. I have no idea as to what to do. Now I am seeing a physiotherapist. He has taped a bandage in the shape of a "y" to my left deltoid. Now i have been instructed to do a lot of exercises every day. But noone it telling me for sure if the strength of my arm will be restored completely. I was really hoping to avoid a surgery. What do you think guys? Any advice would be appreciable. Thankyou.
