Is it normal??

Hey all! I just had my revison surgery for multi level spine fusion T-12 to L4 on July 29th. The surgeon actually apologized to me for not getting in there sooner because he said my back was terrible ans My spine in his words was flapping in the wind. Anyways just a quick question, this time he had to put staples in VA last time he did internal stitches. So now I have to bandage myself up an keep it dry and clean. The problem is the last few times my husband has changed the bandage there has been yellow discharge coming out. Ans last night some blood. Infection?? Should I call doctor or is that relatively normal? I've never dealt with this before. Some people say it's normal but my husband doesn't like I r I go back in less than 2 weeks to see doctor for post op visit. What do u guys fhjnk?? Is yellow a definite sign of infection or just normal drainage. Thank!

I think your doctor wouldn't mind if you called just to be on the safe side. You don't want to get behind in your recovery if it is indeed an infection. And then again maybe it's not a problem.

I am with Ranger, when in doubt, call your doctor. A yellow discharge does not sound too good, get it checked out. Especially, since your husband is also concerned about it, after all he is the one who can see your back better.
