Part of vertabrae (I believe) cracks when I touch it?

Hi everyone,

I'm actually not too sure if this is under the right topic or what my issue exactly is..but something seems to be up. I'm an 18 year old female and I spend a lot time on the computer with a hunched back, etc. I have a minor "buffalo hump" (fatty back of neck basically) as well but I do not know if this is related.
I crack my neck a lot. Sometimes its out of habit, sometimes it because I feel like it. I do not get neck pain all the time or anything, it isn't bothersome and is not frequent.
However, I've recently noticed that one of the ligaments or vertebrae (again, I'm not sure what it is so I'm sorry) seems to have a "popping" feeling when I press on it. It is on my neck, I guess more towards the middle.
I'll try to describe the location. If I press into my back and into my neck, I can feel my spine up into my lower neck. There is one part that is the most palpable. Slightly above that is my issue. I basically feel a smaller "bone" or whatever it is, and it is not easily palpable when my neck is straight. When I bend my head down however, it becomes more obvious. When I press on it, it makes a cracking noise and somewhat feels like its moving.
I do not know if this is my imagination or what. But that's how it feels. I've asked a few friends about it and they assumed tight neck muscles, which i do have.
So does this seem like an actual issue?
