Second cervical surgery no bony growth

I have had a second cervical surgery last December. I had 2 CT scans done in March and April of this year to be told there is no bony growth seen in the cages. Did bone growth stimulator as prescribed and Vit. D also had massage therapy which has made pain worse with bad headaches. Had another x-ray in August and was told still no new bony growth. Had yet another CT scan done a few weeks ago with no new bony growth. My Dr.s office then called me and requested that I wear the soft collar all the time and to come to office in 4 weeks. The CT scan says that a small disc space can be seen between the C7 vertebral body and the anterior cervical plate. Could someone please tell me if they have had this problem and what all this means? The question of further surgery has been brought up because of no bony growth. First surgery was a success with a bone graft this one with cages not so good:( What do I do now/or should I expect now? Have a lot of pain like before surgery Thank You!
